Razzi Slouch

Is what I need to be working on right now!

Instead I've been working on a special order for a friend I haven't seen in 4 years. She requested a gray hat and mustard yellow hand warmers. I might throw a little purple in there somewhere but I can't seem to picture it.
I am in loooooooooove with this gray hat. I want one for me in every color imaginable.
It's the Razzi Slouch. Feminine and Versatile! I love the bold ribbing and farrow rib
Here is what I did:

Tools: 1- Hank of Berroco Vintage Chunky in Cracked pepper.
1- size US10.5  16" circular needle
4 -size US10.5/10 dpns
1- stitch marker

Gauge: 12 sts= 4" in rib stitch

Directions:
Cast on 60 sts using long tail cast on.
Join in round using stitch marker to mark beginning.
Work in 2x2 rib stitch for 2 inches.
(This is the part I'm effy on because I don't really remember what I did)
If you want the little indent between the ribbing and hat top then
increase over TWO knit ROWS up to 96 sts or just increase in ONE knit round up to 96 sts or anything divisible by 3.
Hat section:
Row 1: Knit 2 Purl 1  to marker
Row 2: Knit 1 purl 2
Work these 2 rows for farrow rib in the round for 7 inches. (depending on how much of a slouch you want)
Next row: Knit 1 Purl 2tog all along row.
row 1: Knit 1 Purl 1
row2: Knit
(this makes a broken rib pattern)
Repeat these 2 rows 2 times more.
Next row: decrease every other stitch
knit
Decrease every other stitch
(AGAIN I didn't pay attention to what I did here I just Decreased until I liked How it bunched)
I think there were 16 live stitches left when I decided to cut my yarn and weave them back through to make the scrunchy back
Weave in Ends.
Block if desired

This is my first written pattern that I've...actually wrote err ..typed out. While it may be full of flaws I love my end result and can't wait to make another!!!
I wanted her to be surprised but I also wanted her to love it so I snapped a few photos and this one is my favorite and where the name came from:

I look like I'm trying to dodge the paparazzi ha ha ha so It's a good hat to wear cute with jeans and a tee or to hide a bad hair day while running errands in pajamas like me!
In that picture I'm also wearing a crocheted scarf I made for myself before I even thought of knitting.
It's hard to believe I know.  Anyway she loves it and it's exactly what she wanted. Yay!!! go me. Now I have to finish designing her hand warmers and knit those up pronto because she'll be in town next week!!
Another FO I have that I want to take more pictures of is this seeded cowl I knitted up the other night.
The Bad Seed

I knitted this in 2 skeins of Lion Brand Hometown in black. It's acrylic :( but so soft and warm to wear. I used a size US13 16" circular needle and cast on 68 sts and worked in seed stitch for about 8 1/5 inches. It's 14 inches wide just the thing I love to throw on before going anywhere. It matches with everything!! Chunky yarn is the best. It knits up quick and I love the stitch definition.
I wish I could knit faster or be less ADD When it comes to certain projects. I still have Ian's sweater I need to finish among other things. This Poor Knitter is determined yet overwhelmed with christmas coming up. better get started.

  1. Did you have to block the hat?

  2. In my pictures my hat isn't blocked but you can block it over a plate for extra slouch and to even your stitches. I did block before I gave it to my friend.
