Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving! Since my last post I've been designing and knitting up those handwarmers for my friend which are done!! Not my best knitting. This was my first go at fair isle knitting, although something in the back of my head is telling me I have done this before. Super fast knit but it took me almost a week because I get so distracted!! I pulled too tight when switching colors so it's kind of a tight sqeeze but once they are on they feel like stress relieving gloves...I was going for that yeah? My friend is a photographer so I hope these keep her toasty warm. I would link to her blog but these are a surprise.
I love the thermal look these have and the 10% angora makes them so so soft and warm. I kind of don't like the "halo" look but it's growing on me. I used Cascase Fresco and Cascade 220 Sport..which isn't 220 yards. I'm scared to go too much into detail because I have submitted this design to Knitter Magazine!
and I'm working on another design for Holla Knits! I have a little over a week to submit my design and I still haven't received my yarn. I dreamt of knitting with the Isager alpaca/silk yarn I'm receiving from Jimmy Beans Wool last night. Nothing cool just endless stockinette and smooth silkyness. I woke up disappointed when I received an email saying they hadn't sent my loot because my Fresco yarn wasn't in stock. Boo. I told them to send that shit without it! I also chose yarn from knit picks and that was sent out on Wednesday so either way I'll be getting some yarn soon to start my swatch. I need to bury my head in design books and stitch dictionarys to give me more ideas.
Now to an FO. This:
Turned into this!
I used Berroco Vintage chunky. I think this is my go to yarn for any quick knit. My mom wanted a black hat similiar to a hat my friend wore to my non sucessful jewelry party and I whipped this up in two days....again I get so distracted. I blame Ravelry and new found knitting blogs like..this and of course Cirilia
is it sick that I go back and re read her old blogs?

Finally a picture of the hat and the recipient! You still can't see the zig zag pattern because of the yarn. I think I'm going to test knit this pattern on a solid color and see how that goes and if I like then I'll put my pattern up on ravelry. Speaking of Ravelry my Razzi slouch has 4 projects and 51 ques! It might be more but I stopped obsessively refreshing every hour. My comments on my hat were lovely and I feel like I'm making my mark in the knitting world. Now to see how those projects turn out! I was super thrilled to see that Cirilia posted a hat/cowl pattern at the same time I did. Great minds think alike :)
I'm all over the place and I need to start christmas knitting. Look at my lovely Derek. He's so cute and super shy in these pictures. We went to Golden Corral with Der's dad for thanksgiving dinner and then wen to see The Muppets which was cute and hilarious go see it! Oh! I also have been watching Grey's Anatomy while I knit but for right now it's football with Der and Ian is going to his first sleep over ever! I hope I can persuade the boy to letting me squeeze some GA time in tonight. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It's knitting time.
