Yellow Sun

That is not a Yellow Sun but a very dreary mountain from the other day. Sweater Weather is coming! And I am two long steps away from wearing my sweet sweet Aidez. Since I've been waiting my entire knitting life for this, I'm going to wear it for a week straight. Sleep, Shower, Shop...just kidding I don't shop. I'm poor remember! All the knitting is completely done :) I never thought this day would come.

All that's left is to .ugh. weave in my ends. Then block and sew in my sleeves! Oh man Oh man!!!!!

On to more knitterly things...this piece has never been properly modeled. I don't consider it finished, there is still so much I can do with it. Finally pictures!

My lovely friend Brandy came over to my apartment wearing a super cute red ensemble. I was folding my clothes and found this at the bottom of my closet. I love how well it fit's her outfit!! I made her model for me because she made it look goood.

Project: Trapeze Jacket by Stephanie Japel
Yarn: Lion Brand Homespun ..acrylic (this was before I procured "real" yarn)
Needles: US 9 24" circular
Mods: I shortened it making the bottom more fitted. Not enough yarn to make it all jacket like.

I finished two of three hats which has now turned into three more. I only have pictures of one of them though.

I cast on and started knitting this in the dark during Moonrise Kingdom. This is for my best friend :) I moved this hat to the top of my list because he's amazing. This was a simple hat with no pattern involved. Basic black and white stripes my favorite!

I've been wearing this hat everyday since I finished, just patiently waiting to give it to him.

Chevron cowl on Carly! This one I designed as I knit also. Four different yarns were utilized in this project and three of them were scraps! Berroco Campus (which is now discontinued), Berroco Vintage in Pepper Berroco Peruvia quick in oatmeal and Sublime Chunky Merino tweed in turquoise. It is super cozy and warm and she looks so happy in it :)
The time has come for me to be responsible. It's FRIDAY!!! PK

Livin The Pug Life.

Everyone wants hats! I have three hats going on right now PLUS my sleeves. Which I have been working on all day
I have about ten inches. 8 more to go :) My goal of wearing this sweater this weekend failed miserably because of said hats. But I'm excited to give each one out. I have one FO to show. I started knitting this in April. I needed the needles that they were on so I said fuck it and had it done in an hour ha ha
Now it is this chevron cowl that I'm giving to my girl Carly because it totally fits her style. We're gonna do a photoshoot so for now I have this.
My parent's bought Ian a puppy pug. Oh she is the cutest thing in the world, I'll let these pictures speak for themselves.
Gunther

She loves chewing on my yarn. Ian is pretty stoked to finally have his own dog. Now to knit her a sweater.

My brother took me to go see Moonrise Kingdom

for my third time. I love Wes Anderson and I could watch this movie over and over. I knitted my friend's hat the whole time. Knitting with black yarn..in the dark...no buenos! I also want to watch Celeste and Jesse, I think I've seen previews for it. Andy Samberg and Rashida Jones are in it and they both are hilarious so it should be good.
My weekend was full of drunken knitting but knitting none the less. Hopefully I'll have FO pictures of my hats and their owners :)

Aww I love my pooch. PK

Silence Is a Bore

I was twitted..tweeted?? about!! This circle of stalknism will be complete when I'm rolling in Cirilia Yarn.

So life is fucking weird and amazing all at the same time. I'm still trying to make something out of nothing. The last two months have been wild and distorted. At times it feels like I'll never get anywhere or I'm completely screwed. 90% of the time my transition towards everything new shapes my energy and allows me to carry on with life. Being single and jobless has helped me start to evaluate my goals and substance of being. This is my time to figure out who the fuck I am. Because I honestly have no idea. I know I love my son, I want to Knit... while watching movies and listening to music simultaneously :) and I need to be independent in every way possible. My life ramble is complete.

uhhh movies and knitting! I was at the library a couple week ago and I found this!! I love Gus Van Sant and thought I had seen almost all of his movies. I had never even heard about this. It was one of his first feature films and the story, filming, actors were all incredible. Mala Noche is timeless and was the perfect accompaniment to my knitting..
I was in desperate need of something new and different since I have tons of half finished projects..which will be done!..that reminded me of past events. Anyway I decided to go around the whole sketching/swatching aspect of designing and cast on. The only thing I had in mind was "it's going to be a sweater" this is how far I've come and originating as I go.

But then! My mom wanted to go to Black sheep wool which is my favorite store in the entire world and she offered to buy me my last to hanks of Peruvia quick!! My sweater is on hold for the time being so I can finish my AIDEZ!!!!!!

I was at my parents so I didn't have my ball winder. I did it by hand like the old days while watching workaholics.
Two at a time! My knitting needles were also at my apartment in SLC soooooo I had my brother buy me new ones from the JoAnn's down the street. Yes in fact I am super spoiled and poor ha ha ha.
This was after half a season of Workaholics, Lasagna Dinner, new puppy distraction and CR stalking..(ergo the twitter photo). 13 inches more to go. I'm going on a mini road trip with my mom today so I should be able to knock out a good portion. My goal is to be wearing this sweater this weekend!!!! wish me luck. I love that despite everything that's happened, I was able to get back into my knitting groove :) I hope you have a glorious day!!!!

Stalking Success

The day I found out Why? was coming, which was well over a month ago. I knew I had to be there. I never once heard them but reading Cirilia's blogs I knew all about them...actually just that her boyfriend was in the band. She knitted Yoni Wolf a hat and which then inspired my hand knits for my favorite band members.  I then turned to my friend and told him "I'm going and he will know how much I love his girlfriend"
A month later (which has actually felt like a year) ...an hour before the show, I decided I wasn't going to go. My lovely miracles Willy and Ashley called and persuaded me to go last minute which was the best decision of my life. Beer was consumed, cigarettes were smoked, and street tacos indulged. We walked in from outside as they started their first song and I saw three guys and two girls but no Doug....as I got closer bam! there he was rocking the drums/keyboard..I think. I couldn't see that high.
The show was amazing and I especially love how he switched his instruments up AND sang. I wouldn't expect anything less since this is my ultimate knitting hero's lover. I have to say they are definitely a stellar match! I'm so jealous of both of them. Why? is truly a great band and should be heard by everyone. Back to my main mission.
Ashley and I both wearing my knitted hats :) Willy bought us both Why? shirts I was so stoked!
So the show ends and I 'm standing next to the stairs where they exit and I caught his eye and started walking with him and I said..well shouted "I am in love with your lady Cirilia Rose" and his eyes got wide and we walked out together and I gave him my whole schpeel. He was so excited and bummed that she wasn't there for me to met her :( I gave him my hat and he put it on and they were getting called back on for an encore and I had to snap this picture before. EEP!!!!
We went back inside and they played two more songs. Doug wore my hat the whole time! She told me that I beat her to knitting him a hat this year :) ...sidenote...my friend asked Yoni for a picture and he turned her down :( goes to show how down to earth this guy is!
I was on cloud nine and still now can't believe how perfect my night worked out. Turns out he texted her "I just met a superfan...of you" I only know how to be a creep ha ha ha and stalking my favorite designers boyfriend just to talk about her is by far the creepiest thing I have ever done. This girl is cool as fucking hell and beyond gorgeous. I've gushed about her plenty of times and knitted tons of her designs but nowhere near her whole collection. Her love for good music, movies, books, yarn, fashion, job!..etc etc has kept me so intrigued and obsessed.

What turned into a mini mission of declaring knitter love turned into the most meaningful nights ever!! So now after all that and being a poor knitter (she read my blog!) I will be getting some of her very own stash in the mail!! I love mail, I love yarn, I love Cirilia!! 1/2 of my life is complete and I look forward to experiencing the other half in the near future :-) holy shiz.

                                                                                         candice. Poor Knitter.

I Bet It Stung

I don't even know where to begin! Moving out and working all the time has taken over my life. I still knit but nothing too big. I'm working on my Aidez sweater finally and like 4 different hats for different people. I've knitted beer cozies, sack boy,  wrist bands, cowls and dishcloths! My life is taking a turn and I really need to get my knit life back in order to keep me sane. As much as I want to finish all my 76 projects that I've started I think I need a whole new one!
This is my glorious aidez. I've completely finished the back and sides but I don't have enough yarn to start the sleeves and it will be awhile till I can get money to buy it!
knitted these easy peasy slippers for my mom for mothers day..the yarn I can't remember what it is but I got it in a yarn swap! I really need to make more of these!
I finished this beer cozy but forgot to take a picture of it before I gifted it. This guy at work gave me some of his homebrew so I thanked him with this! I also knitted a rasta colored one I just need to sew in my ends.
sack boy is almost done. Should have been done on june 7th for my son's birthday but I'm a slacker and it hurts my heart now thinking about it.
A cowl I knitted for a girl at work the first attempt failed so I whipped this up in like 4 hours :)
Randomly I have been designing hats and cowls. this is a drawing and swatch of a hat I'm knitting for my sister for mothers day..that sadly still isn't done.
I could ramble on about all my projects but that could take years and this is already taking me 2 hours because I'm ADD. I will leave on a note that I will try not to be absent more than a week. I don't have internet or a working computer at my condo so I will make do! My 2 readers you have not been forgotten!!

XoXo still the poorest knitter on the block!

Life Begins

I AM by far the worst blogger in the world. The number one thing on my resolutions list was to be a better at this. Not doing so good...but for good reason! I got me a job. I work at the University Pharmacy right above the Pie pizzeria in SLC. Which coincidently my boyfriend use to work at, well the delivery but it's still right around the corner. I walked in, applied, was asked to come back for an interview and started work two days later. Man I'm good. Der says my face is a real winner. I've been working for two weeks and still finding time to spin and knit!
I'm making my birthday list my bitch. Aawwww yeah. I'm on my last hat and my birthday isn't till next Wednesday. I have tons of FO pictures to take and post this weekend.
My future looks amazing! I'll be moving back to the city, closer to work and all my LYS Eep!
I was knitting at work today and a knitter walked up to me baffled by my continental knitting. She was like "you knit so fast!" I'm still a thrower at heart but continental is super fast, especially when knitting in the round. (I'm knitting my purple simply pleasure hat by purlbee. It's soooooo cute but makes me sniffly) I was also wearing my beatnik sweater and she loved it so much :) It's nice to talk to other knitters. It's rare for me so I get overly excited when it does ha HA HA
I'm going to try and post at least one picture. Der is playing civ on his laptop and my phone is dead and my nook won't upload :( I love being nerds with my babushkins.
