An Ultimate Hippie Summer Purse

This is the loot I scored at the Lamb and Wool Festival in Lehi yesterday! I was a little disappointed that there were only 2 yarn displays. I was picturing tons of yarn swag out there for me to dive into. It's ok though cause these two hanks were all I could afford. The little one is merino wool, mohair, silk and firestar. It was 5 dollars for 66 yards. Not bad. A little sample to play with. The big one is all wool and sparkle! Right when I got home I rolled it into a ball and immediately cast on.
I was so freaking excited to knit with this. I've never knitted with anything like it. I've knitted with wool but not these colors or sparkle. oh man. I only have 41 yards so to make anything wearable is near impossible. SO i decided to make a hippie fringe purse!!
I knitted about 7x7 and decided that I won't have enough to do front, back and the flap PLUS the fringe! My master plan now is to have a fabric backing with a knitted flap and crazy fringe! Oh man I can't wait to be rocking this at the rainbow or at concerts this summer. Man I love my creative brain. Oh yes by the way I bought this from http://www.etsy.com/shop/CAMAJ I love all her handspun yarn and I'm excited to buy more from her in the future. SHOP LOCAL!
