Sunday Morning
My lovely honey bucket Derek brought us back a bunch of sock yarn from his work yesterday. We are on a hacky sack fever. I've made two so far and I've started on the third which will be Derek's personal hack to keep in his pocket. I told him it would be done by the time he gets home from work. So far i've cleaned the kitchen (go me!) and wasted 2 hours on Ravelry joining groups and and posting topics. How am I suppose to get things finished with this website! I feel like I am way behind everyone on knits and designing. Pretty sure I get more behind by drooling over everyones projects and blogs. Oh yes and i've been watching freeks and geeks on IFC! I haven't even eaten anything! K I will warm up some left over chinese food, logout of my ravelry account and put this computer away so I can get shizz done. Yay for sunday, no school and no child!!!

Summer of Knits
I finished it! and I have been rocking it everyday since. This first picture was after I sewed on the fabric backing. My straps are a lot longer than that and I put on a little more fringe.
It took me about 6 or 7 hours to complete. Since I only had 41 yards to work with, I wont be making anymore with this handspun yarn until I get a job and can buy more yarn from Camaj. For now I plan on making more of these hippie purses but with acrylic white Red Heart yarn and tye dyeing the shizz out of it. Did I mention the Rainbow Gathering? I'm planning on selling or swapping these nifty purses. I'm also planning on opening a booth at the Bountiful Arts Festival with my sister this summer. My procrastination does get the best of me so we will see what happends. So far i've only knitted 10 rows with size 6 needles so its going to take me longer than the size 13's I used for my fringe purse. Today is my tye dye day and I don't even have a full square. I'm off to a good start!

I have been working on another project though that goes along with my hippie summer. "Happy" sacks!!! I knitted one in just over a day and started my second one. I will post more about that tomorrow since getting these pictures uploaded took up half my morning. I need to ingest more coffee and get ready for my day to start!

An Ultimate Hippie Summer Purse
This is the loot I scored at the Lamb and Wool Festival in Lehi yesterday! I was a little disappointed that there were only 2 yarn displays. I was picturing tons of yarn swag out there for me to dive into. It's ok though cause these two hanks were all I could afford. The little one is merino wool, mohair, silk and firestar. It was 5 dollars for 66 yards. Not bad. A little sample to play with. The big one is all wool and sparkle! Right when I got home I rolled it into a ball and immediately cast on.
I was so freaking excited to knit with this. I've never knitted with anything like it. I've knitted with wool but not these colors or sparkle. oh man. I only have 41 yards so to make anything wearable is near impossible. SO i decided to make a hippie fringe purse!!

I knitted about 7x7 and decided that I won't have enough to do front, back and the flap PLUS the fringe! My master plan now is to have a fabric backing with a knitted flap and crazy fringe! Oh man I can't wait to be rocking this at the rainbow or at concerts this summer. Man I love my creative brain. Oh yes by the way I bought this from http://www.etsy.com/shop/CAMAJ I love all her handspun yarn and I'm excited to buy more from her in the future. SHOP LOCAL!

Owl Mitts
I decided to hurry and knit these up for my friend who will be getting that white scarf :) Since the beginning of time Owls have always been our thing. I'm going to see her tomorrow and I wanted to add one more present to her list. I started these last night around 7 and finished this morning right before class. I'm excited to see them both done and on her very own hands. Man I'm so sweet.

Distracted Post That Was Meant To Be
This is my Juliet Scarf I started a couple weeks ago. It will belong to my dear friend whose birthday was the beginning of April. I'm desperately trying to finish it so I can give it to her along with other gifts I have for her. This is the first crazy lace pattern I have attempted and it turned out really good! I can see some of my mistakes but I think she will adore it. I really wish I could have made it out of the yarn it asked for which was made out of angora and wool. I feel like I repeat myself.
I made a list of things to do today and posting this blog was not on the list but should have been. I cleaned my living room all it needs is a good vacuum. I got distracted by the printer cause I realized it can automatically print graph paper!! I am going to attempt to design my own pattern. I thought of this Monday night while drawing on a face in my friends magazine. I have 77 things more to do and then I can finish this scarf. My rosette didn't turn out as beautiful a I imagined. So I think I'm going to knit a black one so she can switch the two out if she likes. (the rosettes are attached to a brooch back so it can come on and off) Man am I excited to give this to her.

Unproductive Thursday
I am postive that I am the worst blogger ever. I finished that red shrug finally but all that's left is weaving in the ends. One thing I despise to do in all of knitting world. I haven't been knitting at all the past couple of days. Sometime last week I learned how to knit a rosette! Didn't turn out perfect considering when I started i wasn't in the right clear mind set and it was my first one. Today is my day off from school and I have done a whole lot of nothing. Other than upload pictures like crazy to my facebook and sit and stare at the lace scarf I started to go with the rosette. Mother's Day is on sunday and I really wish I would have knitted my sister and mom something. I have tons of yarn to start different projects just not the yarns I want. I can't wait to get my hands on more alpaca or maybe some cashmere?? aww. The whole reason I'm in school right now is so I can get a high paying job, move out with my little family and buy luxury yarn like my life depended on it. Now to restart on that white lace scarf which is for a very special friend of mine.
