I've Survived

Christmas knitting is over! The smart thing to do would be to start for next year...but I want to be selfish and clear out my ravelry que. All my knitted gifts were a hit! I don't have pictures of all my gifts sadly. Here are a couple.
Holly in Cozy Wool Earflap hat.

I'm relieved its all over!
Other than everyone loving my knits, Christmas was ultra special because the love of my life spoiled the crap out of me and bought me: a ball winder, Noro kureyon, Noro Taiyo, a fur vest, and a freaking spinning wheel!!!! Along with a book, The Intentional spinner, lazy kate, and one pound of wool roving to practice. I did not see that coming. I've been spinning and dying like my life depended on it since Monday. Drafting and spinning at the same time is challenging. Like my brother said it's just as patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time. In just two days I feel I've made tons of improvement in my spinning. Not so many slubs but a lot thinner than my first 15 yards
Spinning Wheel!

My first two singles

Plied together and waiting

Dyed in Orange Kool Aid

Cheeto Yarn!!

I also got a nook for christmas and since I'm poor from shopping I have no money to buy books ha ha SO I use it more for the internet and looking up knitting patterns..
I am currently knitting a nook cover out of the Taiyo ..cotton and silk ooooohhhh. My nook deserves the best! We went to the Trans Siberian Orchestra last night (side note..I'm sure Derek's parents are never inviting Jen and I to an event like that again because we laughed the entire time and made lots of immature comments)  and I took my knitting but I decided knitting Noro in the dark is no bueno. You can't see the colors change boo. When I'm done with my cover I'm going to start on:
I hope to have all of them finished in time for My birthday. Birthday knitting I'll call it. I forget why I don't blog and I'm reminded by the two slow computers I have and my POS phone that takes ages to upload pictures. I'll be back with new years resolutions. Which is in three days!!!!! I have tons more pictures to post but I feel this has enough.  Good day!!! CB

Overly Overwhelmed.

I have all the time in the world...to not blog. I don't know where to begin today. Christmas knitting is taking over my life right now. I'm to scared to actually write out the list of people in fear of overwhelming myself. I need to work on not getting so distracted. I'm glad I started when I did but also wish I started aloooooot sooner.

I've been making yarn purchases left and right for my Christmas knitting...as I like to tell myself but I know a majority of my loot is for projects I secretly want to knit for myself :"(
I scored this gorgeous yarn from the same lady I bought the yarn for my hippie purse. Camaj, she hand spins all her own yarn from her very own alpacas. Which is actually first on my Christmas list. Along with a yarn winder. Being a poor knitter I have to use cell phone pictures which aren't loading at the moment so I can't show all of my completed presents.
I started Insou which is a hat I've desperately wanted to knit since the beginning of time. I was finally able to purchase the yarn it asked for Berroco Weekend in #5913 Orchid. It's smooth and a pleasure to knit with. The cotton will make this gorgeous hat suitable for St. George weather and my oh so stylin niece.
This is a design of mine I wrote up using my Knitting Dictionary that has endless errors. Since I'm a pretty great knitter I can spot them and correct them as I knit. NOT something I could've done 6 months ago. I call it The Electric Blu-Aid Cowl. Once the holidays are over I will write up the pattern for this and put it on ravelry. This is going to Jen my boyfriend's sister. I knit this out of Lion Brand's Jiffy acrylic yarn. Kind of crunchy but I think the King Brocade pattern and the color make up for it.
(I'm certain that nobody reads my blog so I feel safe putting up my gifts as I go along)
Not entirely sure who this is going to be for. I came up with this on the spot also. Easy peasy to knit while watching endless Grey's anatomy. Actually all my knitting these days is knit to Grey's and football. Izzy knits!!!! This hat is actually reversible and has a netty stitch on the inside. 2 and 1! My phone is being a real bitch face. I will post more pictures tomorrow and maybe pictures of my ever growing stash. I also would like to say..I have one follower!!!!!  thanks for following...follower.
It snowed today and it's still snowing! Ian and I decided to make cookies. Munch on this!
